For the first two weekends of March, alumni and fans from the 10 members of the Missouri Valley Conference invade St. Louis for the hopes of watching their team punch the ticket to “The Big Dance.” Join fellow Illinois State alumni and fans and cheer on the Redbirds for each of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournaments this season.
Head coach Dan Muller and the Illinois State men’s basketball team will attempt to play in their third Valley Tournament championship game in four seasons. The 2013 version runs from March 7-10, and will once again be played at the Scottrade Center.
The following weekend, March 14-17, head coach Stephanie Glance and her staff will have the ISU women’s basketball team ready to make its run at the Valley Tournament title. The women’s edition of Arch Madness takes place at Family Arena, in St. Charles, Missouri.
Redbird fans who want to make the trip and support the Redbird women can reserve a room at the team’s hotel at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel. Illinois State has a limited number of discounted rooms available with a nightly group rate of $99. The block of rooms is available from Wednesday through Saturday nights. The group rate is available to Redbird fans until February 15, subject to availability. Fans can make a reservation by calling (314) 878-1500 or online.
