Addictions and treatment will be the focus of the annual Social Work Day on Wednesday, March 20.
Sponsored by the Kirk Haney Fund, the daylong conference, titled Chasing a New High: Current Trends in Addictions/Treatment, is dedicated to professional development of those who work in social service capacities as well as current School of Social Work students.
Professionals from local agencies working within the community are covering topics such as new drugs and their impact, treating adolescents, drug court and substance abuse and its impact on women. There will also be opportunities for the audience to ask questions of the speakers.
The event will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Illinois State University Alumni Center on Main Street in Normal.
