Illinois State achieved success this spring as nearly 120 alumni came to the Chicagoland Career Fair to seek full-time employment. Hosted by the Career Center, 65 employers seeking candidates for a number of openings were in attendance.
The event, held May 22 in Rolling Meadows, kicked off with an education session allowing attendees to ask questions directly of hiring employers without the pressure of placing a resume in their hands. Alumni seeking answers to their job search and career questions got answers from some of Chicago’s leading companies, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, CDW, Target, and Aerotek. After the panel session, attendees continued their conversations with employers at a reception hosted by the Illinois State Alumni Association. The event culminated with a career fair in which candidates had an opportunity to meet with the 65 hiring companies and apply for their open positions.
Alumni who were unable to attend the Chicagoland Career Fair but are seeking a job can visit Hire-A-Redbird, the Career Center job vacancy posting system, to view current postings by hiring employers. Alumni are also invited to attend any of the upcoming Career Center career fairs this fall.
