Social work major Leah Rolando (above) and faculty advisor Tuwana Wingfield attended the four-day 2013 To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) UChapters Summer Conference in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
The conference focused on preparing student organizations to develop UChapters at their schools. Rolando hopes to establish a UChapter here at Illinois State this fall.
TWLOHA is a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. This movement exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. TWLOHA UChapters are a network of student organizations on college campuses that exists to embody the mission and vision of To Write Love.
Rolando is joined on the ISU UChapter executive board by fellow students of other majors Kimi Jalali, Randal Bernthal, Dan Bajek, John Williams, Kelli Hartfield, Briana Jackson, and Alyssa Hand.
