To ensure a smooth transition into the 2013 Redbird football season, the Illinois State Athletics Department wanted to inform fans of the new game day parking and tailgating changes that have taken place, due to the construction of the newly renovated Hancock Stadium.
Different from previous seasons, parking lots G73, G74, G64, G83, F62, F64, and F83 will now be designated as Athletics donor only tailgating and parking lots. Only Weisbecker Scholarship Fund (WSF) donors with football season tickets holding valid parking passes may park in these lots, starting at 7 a.m. on game days.
Parking lots G53, G81, G82, F43, F71, U91 and S103, will serve as public paid parking and tailgating lots. For $10, the public can purchase one space to park a car, in one of the listed public parking lots, starting at 7 a.m. on game days. For students and fans without cars, tailgating spaces can also be purchased for $10 in the parking lots listed on game days. The North University Street Parking Garage, located just east of Hancock Stadium, will also be available on game days for $10 paid parking; however, tailgating is not allowed in these spaces. All public parking lots and the parking garage will close when all spaces are purchased. Fans are encouraged to arrive early on game days for the best chances on receiving a tailgating space.
RV parking is also available for $25 per each vehicle at the north end of the G82 lot, with overflow parking in the S103 lot. All RV’s not parked in G82 at least three hours prior to kickoff, will automatically be directed to the S103 overflow lot.
