One aspect of the University Lab Schools mission is to assist in improving the quality of education offered in other schools.
Over the past three years we have reached out to area schools, the Regional Office of Education, and the Illinois Principals Association (IPA). A newly formed Common Core Associates Training (CCAT) class was offered to 15 Illinois State University students along with five faculty members. The training class was facilitated by the curriculum coordinator for Thomas Metcalf School.
This class offered background on how to deconstruct the standards, standards-based grading, and how technology is integrated into the standards.
