Gallery Gallop to spotlight alumni art, March 5

The exhibition title winding on and through the lands is taken from a poem written by Jason Sherman, whose modestly scaled, luminous paintings (including the one above)—consisting of metallic enamel, oil paint, and spray paint—are bold abstractions evoking details of fiery landscapes.

The next Friends of the Arts Gallery Gallop will focus on an alumni exhibition. University Galleries Director Barry Blinderman will lead the free tour from 5:30–6:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at University Galleries.

The gallop will focus on the exhibition winding on and through the lands. This exhibition presents recent videos, paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, and installations by Diana Gabriel M.F.A. ’07; Jenny Hansen, M.F.A. ’09; Jason Judd ’06; Mary Laube ’09; Joe Madrigal, M.F.A. ’08; Jason Sherman ’90, M.S. ’99; Lisa Thomas ’12; and Neal Vandenbergh ’10.
