Gallery Gallop, other art events scheduled for May

The final Friends of the Arts Gallery Gallop of the school year will be held Wednesday, May 7, at University Galleries. The tour will be led by University Galleries Director Barry Blinderman and will focus on the 2014 Student Annual, a juried exhibition featuring the work of Illinois State students. The tour is free and open to the public, and will run from 5:30–6:15 p.m. The Student Annual closes May 11.
The opening for the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal’s Gallery Art Show will be held 6–8 p.m. May 9 in the club’s gym, 1615 Illinois Street in Bloomington. The free event will feature artwork by the club’s students. All donors will receive a piece of student art.
Illinois State alum Ian Carey, M.F.A. ’13, will be exhibiting his paintings at the Peoria Art Guild starting May 10. The exhibition, titled B-Attitudes, will be shown through June 11. The opening reception is set for 6–8 p.m. May 10 and is free and open to the public.
