H. Catherine Miller has been appointed acting dean of Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN) as of July 1. Dean Janet Krejci will be serving as interim provost as of July 1, until the next provost is appointed.
“I am confident Dr. Miller will continue to lead MCN as one of the leading nursing colleges,” said Krejci. “She is a strong leader and we have worked closely together for four years.”
Miller was appointed as the associate dean for academics at MCN in 2010. She received her Ed.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and M.S.N. from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Miller previously held the position of associate dean of health and human services at Heartland Community College. She served on the Illinois Board for Nursing for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
She has worked in leadership roles for several health care systems and schools of nursing. Miller has been active in professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels. She has received several professional honors, including District 6 Nurse of the Year in 2000.
“I am honored Dr. Krejci appointed me as acting dean,” said Miller. “We have a strong leadership team and outstanding faculty and staff.”
