The Career Center is pleased to host the Nursing and Health Professionals Fair on Tuesday, October 28, to connect hiring employers with students who are majoring in nursing, kinesiology, social work, and other health related fields and are looking for full-time jobs or externships/internships. The event will be held from 12:30–3 p.m.in the Bone Student Center.
Fair preparation
Students who have never attended a fair before can get help before attending the fair:
- Resume critiques will be held October 14 and October 15. Resume critiques and mock interviews will be held October 10. All sessions will be held in the Career Center in 185 Student Services Building. Click on the dates for more details.
- Get tips on how to prepare for the fair, how to develop a 30-second pitch about yourself to employers, and sample interview questions using the Career Resource Guide.
- Watch the Career Center’s Career Fair video.
- Practice your interview using Interview Stream, our online tool to practice your interview from your own computer, and select questions customized to your position or industry.
Even students who aren’t seeking a job in the spring should still come to the fair. “There is a common myth that career fairs are only for graduating seniors; however, that is false,” said Career Center Career Advisor Megan Turner. “All students should attend the fair, even freshmen and sophomores. It is a great opportunity for students to learn how a career fair works and to learn about the job search process from employers in a more relaxed environment.”
If you need special accommodations to participate, contact the Career Center at (309) 438-2200.
