The University Program Board (UPB) is committed to establishing student-driven programs focused on the social, educational, and recreational growth of Illinois State University and the surrounding community. Check out the following events they have planned for October:
Redbird Rendezvous: Dress in your semiformal attire and attend the Homecoming Formal on Friday, October 3, from 6:30-9 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom. There will be music, dancing, hors d’oeuvres, and a program to reveal the Homecoming royalty!
Hypnotist Matt Grisham: Get hypnotized by Matt Grisham on Friday, October 10, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center. Grisham leads an engaging show by hypnotizing members of the audience and prompting humorous actions.
Screening of the HBO event Beyonce and Jay-Z On the Run Tour: Enjoy the exclusive concert footage captured by HBO Sunday, October 12, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom. Dance and sing with Queen Bey and Jay-Z without paying the concert ticket price.
Selfiesteem: Have you heard about the Dove Self-esteem Project? Submit your own “selfie” using #ISUselfiesteem and learn more about this movement by attending the program on Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m. in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center. You will learn more about how to improve your own and others’ self-esteem.
Fall concert: Iggy Azalea, Taylor Bennett, and Logan will be performing in Braden Auditorium on Saturday, October 18, at 7 p.m. While the concert is sold-out, keep your eyes on UPB’s social media for a chance to win tickets!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event screening: The Aldo vs. Mendes fight is set for 9 p.m. Saturday, October 25, but the location for UPB’s screening is still to be determined. Get updates on UPB’s social media!
