Photos: Redbirds give back for the holidays

Holiday Helper is an annual program sponsored by Leadership and Community Connections in the Dean of Students Office, providing gifts and parties for over 250 children in the local community. Students wrapped gifts on campus, and then hosted five parties at the Boys and Girls Club, Catholic Charities, Unity Community Center, Western Avenue Community Center, and Center for Youth and Family Solutions.

The holidays are a busy time for Illinois State students, who squeeze in finals week between Thanksgiving and a month-long winter break.

Yet Redbirds still made time to give back during the holiday season, on campus and across Bloomington-Normal. Student organizations raised money for charitable organizations and created holiday cards. Redbird student-athletes visited children, entertained classrooms, and organized a blood drive. Illinois State musicians performed for the community.
