Transpace is back! After a short hiatus, the School of Art student gallery has found itself a new, closer location on the first floor of the Center for Visual Arts.
The gallery will reside in the smaller spaces once occupied by University Galleries. The name Transpace really exemplifies how this space will function. All B.F.A. and M.F.A. thesis exhibitions will be installed here every semester, but the space will also be used the rest of the time by the School of Art for critique and installation purposes. Artists are always looking for locations to present their work, and the School of Art is excited to have a space that can transition for multiple functional needs.
Transpace opened December 2 with its first two exhibitions by B.F.A. students Janelle Grosser with her exhibition Good as Gold and Haileyrose Thoma with her exhibition A Weird Day Thing Happened to the Other Me. They each have an artist talk in Transpace on Friday, December 5, Haileyrose at 1 p.m. and Janelle at 4 p.m. Please join us for the reception of these exhibitions from 5–7 p.m. Friday, December 5.
The show will be up until December 12 and open to the public weekdays 1–4 p.m.
