It’s not your average volleyball. It’s Big Red Volleyball! Be part of this active philanthropy February 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Fitness Center Sport Courts. Get active, spread awareness for National Heart Month, and raise funds for the American Heart Association.
The Big Red Volleyball Tournament isn’t played with your standard volleyball. Instead, teams will be competing with a giant volleyball, 33 inches in diameter. Students can preregister their team of six to 10 players on Campus Recreation’s website by noon February 17. The cost is $5 per person and payments will be collected on the day of the event; walk-ins will be accepted as space is available.
“This day will be much more than just a volleyball tournament,” said Olivia Butts, special events graduate assistant. “It will be educating our students on heart-healthy behaviors and snacks. We are hoping to spread awareness on building heart-healthy habits and supporting the efforts of the American Heart Association. We are looking forward to a fun-filled tournament that benefits a great cause as we celebrate National Heart Month!”
Take care of your heart and stay active by joining the Big Red Volleyball Tournament and help spread the red at Campus Recreation. For more information, please visit the Events section of the department website or call (309) 438-2526.
