Join the Department of Health Sciences faculty and staff in congratulating James Broadbear upon his induction into Illinois State University’s Million Dollar Club.
Illinois State’s Million Dollar Club recognizes faculty and staff members who achieve a high degree of success in securing external funding for research and other projects. The funding must total at least $1 million. Started in the early 1990s, the Million Dollar Club honor was re-instituted in 2009.
Broadbear’s research has focused on health promotion program development and dissemination projects. For grants and contracts, he has collaborated with many colleagues on various issues including women’s health promotion programs, evaluation of cardiovascular screening procedures, and HIV prevention training for school and community health professionals.
Without ambitious professors like Broadbear, the University would not have seen an increase of nearly $10 million in external grants every decade since the 1980s, with annual funding averaging in excess of $20 million.
