Several faculty from Communications Sciences and Disorders were honored for their first place finish in the inaugural “Walk the Talk” contest for scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).
Jennifer Friberg, Lisa Vinney, Jennine Harvey, and Heidi Harbers took first place for their project, titled “SoTL to Support Curricular Change in Communication Sciences & Disorders,” which focused on efforts to used SoTL research to inform curriculum reform in the CSD department
The “Walk the Talk” contest recognizes the best team or academic unit who applied SoTL research beyond the individual classroom to solve a problem, achieve a goal, or exploit an opportunity resulting in improved teaching or enhanced student learning. Those honored explore the best application of scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) research results to enhance student learning at Illinois State University. The award was sponsored by the Office of the Cross Chair in the SoTL at Illinois State University.
