The ISULeads Leadership Certificate Program is a comprehensive leadership program offering students a structure for personalizing their college experience to develop as strong leaders and engaged citizens.
ISULeads is a campus and community-wide initiative incorporating curricular and co-curricular learning built on three pillars: civic engagement, global perspectives, and leadership. Students may participate in one or all pillars throughout their time at ISU, depending on the interest and time available. In addition to a few ISULeads-specific activities, students must complete twelve experiences per pillar. Examples of experiences might include academic coursework, community service projects, or attending cultural events. To earn the full ISULeads Certificate a student must fulfill requirements of all three pillars. Completion of each pillar is noted and recognized with a certificate and graduation cord.
Daniela Lerma, a recent graduate of the program, became a part of ISULeads to enhance her learning and development for her personal and professional life.
“Students, no matter what year in school, should definitely join ISULeads,” Lerma said. “Many students do not take advantage of all the great opportunities that ISU offers us for personal enrichment and growth, and I was introduced to many new programs because of my involvement in ISULeads. The program is dynamic and enjoyable to participate in.”
ISULeads has grown tremendously since the start of the program four years ago, and the Dean of Students Office looks forward to accepting new students this fall. To learn more about ISULeads, please contact Leadership and Community Connections at (309) 438-7346.
