The Career Center will host the Nursing Fair Tuesday, October 27, in order to connect employers from hospitals, social service agencies, and other companies with candidates seeking full-time jobs, externships, or internships in the nursing and health professions, social work, and other related fields. The event will be held from 12:30–3 p.m. at the Hancock Stadium Club.
Fair preparation
Those attending the fair as candidates should be sure to visit the Nursing Fair Web page on the Career Center’s site to review a number of helpful tips to help prepare for the fair. Also, students should visit the Career Center Guide in the Illinois State University App available for free from App Store or Googe Play Store. The guide provides a complete list of the employers attending the fair, a brief description of their companies, their positions available, and a map of where their tables will be located at the fair. The app also provides helpful tips on how to prepare for the fair and how to put your best foot forward at the event.
Even nursing students who aren’t seeking a job in the spring should still come to the fair. “There is a common myth that Career Fairs are only for graduating seniors; however, that is false,” Career Center Career Advisor Megan Turner said. “All students should attend the fair, even freshmen and sophomores. It is a great opportunity for students to learn how a career fair works and to learn about the job search process from employers in a more relaxed environment.”
Employers
Employers interested in attending this event can still register by visiting the Nursing Fair Web page on the Career Center website.
