Illinois State students are invited to the Construction Management Fair from 1–4 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, in the new Hancock Stadium Clubhouse.
Hosted in conjunction with the Department of Technology, employers in construction management, safety, and renewable energy will meet with Illinois State students and alumni to discuss job opportunities.
Fair preparation
To help students prepare, the Career Center is hosting InstaCareer, a career preparation session, on September 10 from 4–7 p.m. in the Bone Student Center. Participants will rotate through various stations to learn how to introduce themselves to employers, make a good first impression, dress appropriately, and research and follow-up with employers after career events. Students can participate in the session to prepare for networking with employers, including resume reviews and practice interviews.
A list of employers registered for the fair is available for students to research before the fair.
- Get tips on how to prepare for the fair, learn how to develop a 30-second pitch about yourself to employers, and see sample interview questions using the Career Resource Guide.

Students attending the fairs need to bring their Redbird ID card and plenty of copies of their resume, and they are encouraged to dress for an interview. Student can also order free business cards to distribute to employers and print out their resume on free resume paper through the Career Center.
