Ethan Witting is making the most of his experience in Illinois State University’s Honors Program.

Witting traveled to Italy with an Honors class that explored Florence for an entire semester before the trip. He’s developed his leadership skills as a mentor to younger Honors students and by serving as the Honors Program’s undergraduate assistant. He’s planned events, honed his public speaking skills, and much more.

“Being an Honors student is something that every student at Illinois State University should really be striving to attain,” said Witting, a junior finance and insurance major. “There are so many unique learning opportunities and leadership opportunities.”

The Honors Program promotes exceptional learning for exceptional learners by enriching students’ learning experiences at Illinois State. The Dimensions of Honors Learning are interwoven throughout the six unique Honors Learning Experiences offered to students each semester. Witting’s trip to Italy, for example, was an Honors Travel Experience.

“Illinois State is really redefining what it means to be an Honors student,” Witting said.
