The search for the College of Business dean has been narrowed down to four candidates–Paul Shoemaker of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Sushil Sharma of Ball State University; Ajay Samant of the University of North Florida; and Yash Gupta, president and CEO of SDP Telecom, Inc.
In an effort for the public and the campus community to learn more about the finalists in this search, open forums will be held October 30 and November 2, 3, and 6. The forums will be held as follows:
Sushil Sharma – 3 p.m. Friday, October 30, Old Main Room, Bone Student Center

Sushil Sharma is the associate dean and professor of information systems in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He received a Ph.D. in management from the University of Pune, India; he has a master of science and technology from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India; and a diploma in electrical engineering from Delhi Board of Technical Education Delhi, India. He joined the faculty at Ball State University in 2001.
Ajay Samant is professor of finance and former dean in the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida. He earned a Ph.D. in economics and a masters in economics from Indiana University. He joined the faculty at University of North Florida in 2010.
Yash Gupta is the President and CEO of SDP Telecom, Inc., Dorval, PQ. He earned a Ph.D. in management sciences from the University of Bradford, England; a master’s in M.Tech production management from Brunel University of West London, England; and a bachelor of science degree in production engineering, Panjab University, India. He joined the SDP Telecom, Inc. team in 2011.
Paul Shoemaker is the senior associate dean in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned a Ph.D. in business administration from Pennsylvania State University, and M.B.A. from Marywood College, and a B.S. in business education from Bloomsburg University. He joined the faculty at University of Nebraska in 1989.
