Student Health Services is now offering flu shots for students! This year, we will be offering Mobile Flu Shot Clinics! This is a fast, easy, and convenient way to get your flu vaccine—NO appointment necessary. Visit Mobile Flu Shot Clinics to find out locations across campus. You are always welcome to make appointments to get your flu shot at the Student Health Services (SHS) clinic. You can make appointments online or call us at (309) 438-2778.
There is a $15 charge for the flu shot. You may pay with cash, check, or credit card, or charge it to your student account. Most insurance, including Student Health Insurance, will cover this preventive care. We will have Student Health Insurance representatives on-site to answer any questions you may have about insurance reimbursement. After you receive the flu shot, you will be able to print a walk-out statement from the secured SHS portal in which you can provide to your insurance for reimbursement.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC)* recommends a yearly flu shot as the first and most important step in protecting yourself against this virus. In addition to getting a seasonal flu vaccine, take everyday precautions to reduce the spread of germs, such as staying away from sick people, washing your hands, and if you are sick, staying home from work or school to prevent spreading the flu.
Visit Student Health Services for more information about the services that we provide for students at Illinois State University. If you have questions about Student Health Insurance and flu shot reimbursement, please call (309) 438-2515.
