Broadway actor and international concert singer Darius de Haas will present master classes and a performance colloquium at Illinois State University on Tuesday, November 3. The events, hosted by Illinois State’s School of Theatre and Dance and its Crossroads Project, are free.
The events on Tuesday, November 3, will include a meet-and-greet with de Haas from 10-11 a.m. in the Rosa Parks Room in Watterson Towers, and a colloquium with songs by de Haas from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Center for the Performing Arts Theatre.
Chicago-born de Haas was part of the original Broadway productions of Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Carousel (revival), Rent, The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm, Marie Christine, and the 20th anniversary concerts of Dreamgirls and Hair. Many musical theater fans know him for his role of Cain in the Stephen Schwartz musical Children of Eden in which he sang “Lost In The Wilderness.”
The events are co-sponsored by the Illinois State University Office of the President, the Harold K. Sage Foundation, College of Fine Arts, and University Housing.
