For students interested in event planning, programming, public relations, marketing, or those who loved Welcome Week, consider becoming a Welcome Week intern.
This year, there are 27 Welcome Week intern positions available. These interns will have the opportunity to learn about the behind-the-scenes processes involved with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of large-scale campus events.
In addition to the planning experience, Welcome Week interns will gain experience in outreach, public relations, and public speaking. One intern position will focus specifically on social media, including the maintenance of the Welcome Week Twitter and Facebook accounts and app, as well as the development of a Welcome Week Instagram account.
Former Welcome Week intern, Molly Tesdall says, “I learned a lot about event planning, but I made connections with the interns that have turned into friendships.”
