The Adventure Connection will be relocating to its new home in the Campus Recreation Operations building at 1020 Gregory Street and will open for the spring season on Monday, February 29.
This new location will allow the Adventure program to house all equipment in one space, and will provide patrons with a “one-stop-shop.” Rent a variety of equipment including canoes, kayaks, tents, hammocks, sleeping bags, and more. This new location also has plenty of free parking, making it easy to load up all that gear for your next outdoor adventure. To make sure you keep warm during your next excursion, the Adventure Connection will be handing out a free Campus Recreation stocking hat to the first 50 renters at the new location.
In this new facility, equipment rentals will continue to be available to members of the Student Fitness Center and current Illinois State faculty and staff regardless of membership status. A valid Redbird Card must be presented at time of equipment pickup.
“Previously we had to rent equipment far away from parking. Now parking is available right in front of the building,“ said Rachel Iversen, assistant director for Adventure programs. “This new space is large enough to house all our equipment, including canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards. It makes it easier to rent and load everything you need, leaving you more time for your adventure.”
Equipment rentals will continue by appointment only until February 29. Starting February 29, operational hours for the new Adventure Connection will be 3–6 p.m. Mondays and Fridays with additional hours available by appointment.
