Student Activities and Involvement provides support to over 350 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus. This month’s RSO Spotlight is Illinois State University’s Clef Hangers.

Established in 2008, Clef Hangers is the first mixed A Cappella group at Illinois State University. The group consists of 13 singers who sing and perform all different styles of music. Recently, the group competed and placed fourth in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Great Lakes Quarterfinals.

Senior Jess Jorgensen, the group’s president, said Clef Hangers is a great way for her to keep music in her life.

“I came to ISU as a transfer student,” Jorgensen said. “As soon as I became a member of the Clef Hangers, I felt at home.”

Currently, the group is open to all majors, and auditions take place on a semester by semester basis. Clef Hangers has performed at the American Red Cross banquet, Relay for Life, College Mentors for Kids, and other events on campus and in the Bloomington-Normal area.
