Hike through more than 2,500 beautiful acres of prairie land in Goose Lake with Campus Recreation.
The Adventure program will host a day hike to Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area in Morris. Our trip leaders will take hikers through boardwalks and trails of diverse environments where endangered animals may be seen.
The Goose Lake Day Hike will take place April 2 and costs $20 for students/members or $25 for nonmembers. Participants will experience an afternoon among the prairies that once covered 60 percent of Illinois. Register by March 30 to ensure a spot on this day hike adventure. Transportation and instruction are included in the registration fee; participants are encouraged to bring their own food.
“This is a great opportunity to experience the beauty and wildlife of the prairie,” said Rachel Iversen, assistant director for the Adventure program. “The trip leaders are excited to take students to this new location.”
