Graduate school students and doctoral candidates are invited to join the Career Center and the Graduate School for an evening of professional development at Graduate Student Career Roundtable from 6–8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Hancock Stadium Club.
An initiative of the Career Center’s Cultural Career Network (CCN), students will hear from a panel of employers and Illinois State alumni about job search strategies, salary negotiation skills, and resume and portfolio development. Students will also network with other young professionals, employers, and alumni in an intimate, roundtable discussion to gain insight about professional development. Refreshments will be provided.
“One of the goals of this event is to assist students with their career goals in an intimate setting,” said Maureen Roach, Career Center senior assistant director for programming and events. “The Graduate Student Career Roundtable will give masters and doctoral candidates a chance to discuss professional development outside of the classroom. It is important to know how to incorporate graduate work and projects on their resumes and develop portfolios to showcase their work to potential employers.” Roach also encouraged students to visit the Career Center for additional advice and support from a professional career advisor anytime during their decision process.
Reservations for the event are required. Register for the Graduate Student Career Roundtable today.
