The Dean of Students Office’s November student spotlight is Andrew Jacobs, a junior arts technology major from Lexington. Jacobs is involved in two Dean of Students Office units. Jacobs serves as a marketing specialist with Leadership Community and Connections and as a marketing intern with Diversity Advocacy. He also serves as the co-president of PRIDE.
Jacobs enjoys the relationships he has developed with staff members in the Dean of Students Office, and emphasizes how they develop students into leaders. For Jacobs, staff members have helped him learn the power of his voice and to lift the other voices around him. “The Dean of Students Office has prepared me to not only hear people around me, but listen to people, which has helped me handle complex issues in a civil manner,” he said. This has helped Jacobs evolve into a more engaging and more motivated leader.
The Dean of Students Office is fortunate to work with talented students like Jacobs each day. Thank you for your leadership, Andrew!
