Eric Parker, Ed.D., Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) Model Laboratory School executive director, visited the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools on November 29.
Parker has 17 years of experience in K-12 education, the last 13 in school and district administration. Established more than a century ago on the EKU campus, Model Laboratory School educates approximately 720 students from pre-K through 12th grade while providing field experiences for EKU students and demonstrating evidence-based strategies. It is the Commonwealth’s only remaining laboratory school.
Parker met with Jeff Hill, Illinois State’s Laboratory Schools superintendent, to become familiar with the Lab Schools and to discuss best practices. Additionally, he spent time with both Metcalf principal Amy Fritson Coffman and University High School principal Andrea Markert touring the schools and meeting faculty and students.
