Faculty members from nearly 30 departments across campus will showcase their new or revamped courses on Thursday, August 3, at the Alumni Center. The annual Summer Showcase is the culmination of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology’s Summer Institute. Course instructors spent the summer in one of several design cohorts, exploring established best practices and discovering new ways to enrich the educational journeys of Illinois State students.
Instructors will showcase their work through short presentations or posters. This year, design cohorts include the following:
- AIM Online (Online course redesign)
- Design Your Course (for early career faculty)
- Going Global with Your Course
- (Re)Design Your Course for Civic Engagement
- Reinvent Your Course for Diversity
In addition, a group of graduate students explored course design as part of the Instructional Design for Future Faculty cohort. They created teaching portfolios as part of their program and will be on hand to discuss what they learned.
The complete schedule of presenters is available at CTLT.IllinoisState.edu/Showcase. The event, which starts at 9 a.m., is free and open to all members of the Illinois State community.
