Ryan Paitz joins the School of Biological Sciences at Illinois State University as an assistant professor. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from Illinois State University in 2010. Since receiving his Ph.D., he has held postdoctoral research positions at Illinois State University and the University of Illinois.
Paitz received a National Institutes of Health grant in 2014 and in 2016. He has published over 30 manuscripts in journals such as Proceedings of the Royal Society and General and Comparative Endocrinology.
While a graduate student at Illinois State University, Paitz met his wife, Kendra, MBA ’06, M.A. ’11, who is currently the senior curator at University Galleries at Illinois State. He likes to spend his time away from Illinois State with Kendra and their two children, Mia and Henry. With his strong connection to the University and Bloomington-Normal, Paitz is excited for the opportunity to call Illinois State University home.
