The Richard Eikenberg Scholarship was created in 2008 to honor the past Economic Development Council (EDC) board chair. Kadi Ilves ’16 recently won this award, which allows one local college student a chance to participate in local economic development projects. Ilves will take the “One Voice” trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress in a quest for federal funding.
Ilves is a student in the graduate program of applied economics with a concentration in regulation of electricity, natural gas, and telecommunications. A native of Tallinn, Estonia, she plans to work in electricity market regulation after graduation with a goal in increasing sustainable energy. Ilves earned bachelor degrees in renewable energy and economics from Illinois State.
