Jamie Wood has been named director of donor relations and stewardship at Illinois State University.
In this role she will oversee a comprehensive donor stewardship program, engaging and cultivating university donors and prospects at all levels of giving.
For the past year she has served as associate director of donor and development communications. In this newly-created position she created campaign communications, including major gift announcements and publicity. She participated in developing targeted donor communications to cultivate and steward donors, directed messaging for the planned giving newsletter, and managed Giving social media and websites.
“Jamie is creative and brings a vast background of more than 15 years of professional marketing and communication expertise to the position,” said Jill Jones, chief operations officer for University Advancement. “She is known on campus and in the community as a strong collaborator and a person who quickly build trusts and rapport among donors and colleagues and will excel at continuing to build our donor relations program.”
Wood is a 2003 alumna with a degree in public relations. After graduating from Illinois State, she developed and implemented marketing plans for businesses across central Illinois as a marketing consultant at a Bloomington firm, then worked at COUNTRY Financial as a communication analyst in corporate communications. She was delighted to return to Illinois State in 2010 as an employee where she led marketing and communications for University Housing Services, then Campus Dining Services (now a part of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality).
