November 11 was Veterans Day, the annual federal holiday which honors living military veterans, persons who have served in the United States Armed Forces and were honorably discharged. Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day. Armistice Day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.
