Six construction management students participated in the Associated Schools of Construction Regions 6 & 7 Virtual Project Management competition on February 4-5. The Associated School of Construction is a professional association for the development and advancement of construction education, and excellence in teaching, service, and research. Regions 6 and 7 include the eastern and western states. The competition is a nationally open competition with a fifteen-team limit for each division or category.
On Thursday, February 4, the team received the specifications for their project. The team had to submit their bid proposal on February 4 and their virtual presentation and question period was on Friday, February 5. DPR Construction was the competition sponsor and supplied the pre-problem statement for the Project Management Competition. Each student participant was assigned a specific role. Caleb Jacob was the contract manager, Danylo Hyvel was the scheduling manager, Jake Vickers was the cost estimator, Jesus Correa was in charge of site logistics, Emma Siragusa was in charge of safety and subcontractor bid comparison, and Dominic Bernabei was in charge of quality and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).
