Several Illinois State student-athletes earned their spots this spring at the NCAA Championships for their respective sports. We are #RedbirdProud of the individuals and teams listed below:

Sophomore Angelica Labat was the first ISU gymnast to ever compete at the NCAA Championships on Friday, April 16 in Fort Worth, Texas. Labat competed on the vault, for which she previously posted a personal-best score of 9.950 at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional to punch her ticket to Fort Worth.

The Redbird volleyball team made its third-straight appearance at the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, April 14 in Omaha Nebraska, after winning both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.

Senior Kevin Koski crossed the finish line 99th overall at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on March 15, clocking in at 31:32.5 in the 10k race. He joins an elite group of Kyles Mattes (52nd/2018), Mike Baker (53rd/1980) Christian Goy (65th/2002), and Robert Breit (80th/2001) as the only men’s runners in school history to finish in the top-100 at the national championships.

Senior Kameesha Smith earned Second Team All-America honors for the second time in her career, tying for 10th in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 12 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her 10th-place finish was her best ever at an NCAA Championship meet, after previously finishing 12th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2019.
