State Policy Initiatives for Supporting Academic Growth
In a year filled with academic disruptions and shuttered schools in many parts of the country, states and districts are now shifting their focus to minimize the effects of the lost academic opportunities for students. While this is not unique to the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic has exacerbated these challenges. As a result, states and districts are exploring summer bridge programs, an extension of the academic calendar and innovations in the classroom that will expand student growth opportunities. This session features examples of these from various states.
