A new video series created by the University Marketing and Communications (UMC) social media and video intern team is highlighting cool things for students to do on and near Illinois State’s campus.
In the just-released first episode of Redbird Explore (see above), UMC interns Micah Sewell, Ethan Brakke, and Jordan Scholtes sampled dishes from a couple of Uptown Normal’s favorite eateries and visited a beloved cafe. Look for the second episode of Redbird Explore in September, and catch the UMC team testing out all that the Student Fitness Center has to offer.
The students were inspired by Redbird alum Keith Habersberger’s popular YouTube show The Try Guys. Habersberger and his co-stars try everything from baking pies to undergoing acupuncture in the series.
“I came to ISU to hone my skills as a creator and produce the content I enjoy seeing,” said Sewell, a senior mass media major and UMC video intern who came up with the idea for Redbird Explore. “I actually met Keith in person while working here, and seeing him being able to create and achieve his dreams while being an ISU alum inspired me to do the same and create this project.”
