Dr. Taiwo Durowade ’09 is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who is taking her vast knowledge of women’s health and sharing it on social media to better educate her patients and followers.
Durowade is working to destigmatize women’s reproductive health and share information about conditions that she believes should be more widely discussed and understood. She also opened her own private gynecologic practice, Dardur Gynecology, to help women thrive at every stage of life.
Durowade joins Redbird Buzz to discuss how she got her start in medicine as a biochemistry and molecular biology student at Illinois State University, how her decision to focus on gynecology—without practicing obstetrics—allows her to focus on a woman’s health and well-being, and what she’s doing to amplify issues concerning women’s health. Durowade is featured in the summer 2023 State alumni magazine.
