Aaliyah Gladney has been awarded the American Academy of Audiology Foundation’s Empowering Students Scholarship. The scholarship is based upon her exceptional promise as a clinical audiologist and is funded by the Oticon Hearing Foundation.

Gladney, a fourth-year doctor of audiology student, is currently completing her fourth-year externship at the Center for Hearing and Speech in St. Louis. She will graduate with her clinical doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) in May 2024. Throughout her time at Illinois State University, she impressed with her academic and clinical skills. In 2023, she was awarded the Outstanding Audiology Graduate Clinician of the Year award.

“I am extremely honored to be a recipient of the Empowering Students Scholarship,” Gladney said. “Receiving this award during my externship year will relieve the financial stress that comes with being a graduate student and extern. Thank you to The American Academy of Audiology Foundation and Oticon for this generous award!”
