In collaboration with the Office of the Provost, the Multicultural Leadership Institute (MCLI) will host a Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP) “Lunch and Learn” Information Session on Thursday, March 21, at noon in Stevenson 401. All interested Illinois State faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Registration is required.
The Institute’s signature program, MCLP, is an intensive nine-month leadership development course. Firmly rooted in equity and based on servant leadership principles, MCLP is a transformative experience that challenges its participants to become more self-aware, grow as a leader, develop new skills, and serve their community. Cecilia Ruffin, executive director of the MCLI, encourages attendance for those wanting to make a difference, “servant leaders see obstacles as opportunities to learn, serve, and grow.”
Since 2009, MCLP has partnered with almost 60 local nonprofits on capacity building projects and empowered over 300 alumni leaders, many of whom are Redbirds. The University will sponsor a limited number of employees for the MCLP Class of 2025 which will begin in July 2024.
Those who cannot attend the session, but are interested in MCLP or have any questions, may contact Christie Wissmiller at clwissm@IllinoisState.edu or (309) 438-2915. To learn more about the MCLI and MCLP, please visit their website.
