Students can join one of four planned service projects to assist in the spring cleaning of local parks and assist community organizations during this year’s Bring it Back to Normal service day, April 12.
For over a decade, Bring It Back to Normal has provided Illinois State University students opportunities to give back to the community and help residents with “spring cleaning” tasks. Since the pandemic, the program has broadened its scope by collaborating with local organizations.
This year, volunteers will meet at the Escalante Conference Room in Hewett-Manchester (VRO 103) on the day of the event for check-in starting at 11:45 a.m. After the welcome remarks and pre-reflections, students will then head out to service sites. The program is scheduled to run from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration is open, and there are limited spots available. Visit Redbird Life to sign up to one of the following projects:
- Fell Arboretum: Volunteers will assist in tagging trees in the arboretum.
- Normal Parks and Recreation: Volunteers will take action in cleaning up Fairview Park and Anderson Park.
- Home Sweet Home: Volunteers will prep the garden and help set up the food co-op.
- Office of Sustainability: In keeping with the tradition of “spring cleaning,” volunteers will be picking up litter near the campus.
