Leadership Education and Development (LEAD), a unit of the Dean of Students Office, is excited to share the guest lineup for the fourth annual ELEVATE Leadership Week, April 15-19.
ELEVATE Leadership Week is a collaborative initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the community of student leadership at Illinois State University. This transformative week features a lineup of dynamic guest speakers, each representing the rich mosaic that makes up the campus community.
The 2024 ELEVATE Leadership Week Promotional Slideshow features each guest speaker and session overview. Guest speakers include:
- Dr. Jordan Harper, assistant professor at the School of Education and Urban Studies at Morgan State University and co-author of the Leadership for Liberation Framework
- Dr. Chang Su-Russell, associate professor of Human Development and Family Sciences at Illinois State University
- Jason LeVasseur, Award-Winning Musician and Founder of The Rock Star Project
- Alejandra Luna, Leaders of Social Change Institute Fellow, Illinois State University MFA Student, and Theater Director
- Dr. Shatoya Black, assistant director of University College – TRIO
- Saul Flores, Social Activist, Philanthropist, and Founder of LoveWalk
- LaToya Ruby Frazier, Award-Winning Visual Artist and Associate Professor of Photography at the Art Institute of Chicago
- Jamie Mathy, co-owner of Red Raccoon Games and Illinois State Alumni
LEAD asks that those interested in attending any of the programs throughout the week utilize the ELEVATE Leadership Week Interest Form to sign up for priority seating and receive program updates/calendar reminders for the sessions and guest speakers that most interest them.
