As we approach the end of the spring semester, University Housing Services is pleased to announce this term’s recipients of the Resident Assistant and Community Assistant (RACA) Academic award. The RACA academic scholarship is presented to resident (RA) and community assistants (CA) who exemplify success in the classroom, as well as in the RA/CA Leadership role. This semester, five $500 academic scholarships were awarded to outstanding students.

Noted for his exceptional performance as a resident assistant at Manchester Hall, Noah Bahnsen’s commitment to fostering a supportive community, academic excellence, and engagement in campus activities make him a highly deserving recipient of the RACA academic award.

“This scholarship is not only something that helps me pay for school but also (signifies) something that I am very proud of,” says Bahnsen. “It is something that I will be putting on my resume and something that makes me proud to be an RA.”

Bahnsen noted that the funds from the RACA academic scholarship will significantly help alleviate the financial burden.

“I remember my first time paying off a semester of school. … I then started worrying about paying off the rest of college, and it was something that was very important to me,” explains Bahnsen. “This scholarship helps lessen the price of school and helps me immensely.”

Bahnsen cited having an encouraging support system as one of the major influences in his academic career.

“Role models for me have been my mom and dad,” says Bahnsen. “They have always been very influential on my motivation and drive. They have always told me to work as hard as I can and that if I do that, I know I did my best.”
