Cultural graduation recognition ceremonies acknowledge the success of underrepresented Illinois State graduates and their families, providing a space for students to express gratitude toward their supporters and embrace their cultural identities, traditions, and values. Each ceremony recognizes the achievements and successes of Redbird graduates and is separate from the traditional commencement.

The following events were held this spring: Umoja, a celebration of Black graduates at Braden Auditorium; Nuestro Logros, which honored Latino/a/x graduates at CEFCU Arena; Lavender graduation, which honored LGBTQIA2S+ lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and ace-identified graduates at the Bone Student Center; and MAPS, which recognized Middle Eastern, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian graduates at the Multicultural Center. Below are a selection of photos from the events.
