As preparations for Move-In are already underway, University Housing Services is quick at work to create and facilitate a safe and efficient process for incoming residents. This is possible thanks to a dedicated group of students, faculty, staff, and community members—known as Curb Birds—who volunteer to assist students and their families. The Curb Birds will be stationed outside Watterson Towers and Hewett-Manchester in red shirts. Their primary role is to help unload vehicles as they arrive, ensuring a smooth transition.
Deborah and Raymond Campos, Bloomington community members and Curb Birds for the last three years stated, “University Housing does a phenomenal job at organizing Move-In, from time slots to traffic control. It is a very rewarding experience knowing that we are being helpful members of the community.”
Overall, the Curb Birds’ presence and services are designed to enhance the Move-In experience, ensuring an easy and enjoyable transition for incoming residents and their families.
Move-In Week at Illinois State University will be Monday-Sunday, August 12-18.
