Illinois State University’s Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts and School of Music presents Concerts on the Quad, the annual summer outdoor concert series. Performances will take place weekly at 7 p.m. from Monday, July 1 through Monday, July 29 in front of Cook Hall. All concerts are free and open to the public. Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
Monday, July 1—33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band
Kickoff the week and July 4th festivities with a night of Civil War era music.
Monday, July 8—Olivia Wexler
Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Olivia Wexler makes her Concerts on the Quad debut.
Monday, July 15—Jodi Beach
The lovely Jodi Beach performs songs and stories from the Great American Songbook.
Monday, July 22—An Evening of Jazz
Enjoy an evening of hot licks and cool riffs with the Tom Marko Quintet.
Monday, July 29—Singing Under the Stars with MIOpera
Artists from MIOpera perform favorites from the Broadway and operatic stages.
Concerts on the Quad is sponsored by the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, Alice and Fannie Fell Trust, and the Town of Normal Harmon Arts Grant Program.
In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved to the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. The building is located on the southeast corner of the Quad, next to Williams Hall. For announcements of site changes on concert days, listen to radio stations WGLT (89.1 FM), WBNQ (101.5 FM), or WJBC (1230 AM) after 6 p.m. on concert days or visit the Concerts on the Quad Facebook page.
