Illinois State University has once again been recognized among a select group of 228 universities across the country named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society’s 2024 Transfer Honor Roll, continuing the University’s reputation as a top destination for transfer students.
The award recognizes four-year colleges and universities for exemplary support for community college transfers.
Illinois State is one of only nine institutions that has been included on the Transfer Honor Roll since the award’s inception in 2016, marking the University’s consistency and excellence in serving transfer Redbirds.
Institutions are selected based on 40 key metrics considering support and success of transfer students, analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse, and data submitted by universities through PTK Connect, a platform used by prospective transfer students to gather information and find their best fit at a four-year school. The portal uses that information to generate a transfer-friendliness rating.
Illinois State welcomes about 2,000 transfer Redbirds to campus each year, and the University offers support services and guidance to ensure a seamless transition for those students.
Transfer students can learn more about life as a transfer Redbird by visiting campus.
Phi Theta Kappa is recognized as the official honor society for community colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges.
