Two Mennonite College of Nursing Ph.D. students, Katherine Davey and Katherine Earnest, were recently named to the Illinois Nurses Foundation‘s 40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders list.

Katherine Davey is a clinical nurse in a hospital medical-surgical unit passionate about advancing evidence-based practice and nursing research. She also chairs the Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Council for Advocate Health’s Midwest region, supporting nursing research endeavors across the organization. In addition, Davey is a Ph.D. student at the Mennonite College of Nursing and is grateful for the program’s support and guidance in advancing her nursing research knowledge.

Katherine Earnest is a nurse leader with over 15 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation nursing, including work at the bedside and in administration. As director of nursing research at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Earnest leads efforts to increase the involvement of clinical nurses in research activities and champions the integration of research into nursing clinical care.
